Works 6/2000: Cannot Merge Database That Contains Formulas with a Publisher 2000 Publication (239188)

When you attempt to merge a Microsoft Works 2000 database or Microsoft Works 6 database with a Microsoft Publisher 2000 publication, you may receive the following error message:
Publisher cannot import a Works database that includes formulas.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if any of the fields in the database contains a formula.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, make a copy of the Works database, remove the
formulas from the copy of the database, and then merge the modified database with the Publisher 2000 publication:
- Open the Works database that you want to merge with the Publisher
2000 publication.
- On the File menu, click Save As.
- In the File name box, type a new name for the
database.
- In the Save in box, click the folder in which you
want to save the database, and then click Save.
- Click the name of the field that contains a formula to select the
entire field.
- On the Record menu, click Delete Field.
- When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click OK.
- Repeat steps 5 through 7 for each field that contains a formula.
- Merge the modified Works database with the Publisher 2000
publication.
