VIZACT: Choosing to Install Media Files as "Run from CD" in Custom Setup Doesn't Work (238681)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Vizact 2000

This article was previously published under Q238681

SYMPTOMS

If you choose to use a custom install of Vizact, and you set the Media Library files to "Run from the Network" or "Run from the CD," the selected features size stays the same, and the install takes the same amount of hard disk space.

CAUSE

The Media Library files will all be installed to your computer regardless of changing the setting to "Run from the Network" or "Run from CD".

WORKAROUND

To reduce the disk space required for the installation, you can choose the "Not Available" option for the Media Library. To add the Media Library files after you have installed Vizact, use the Add/Remove Programs feature in the Control Panel.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
