VIZACT: Images Not Displayed If Server Requires Standard Authentication (238680)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Vizact 2000

This article was previously published under Q238680

SYMPTOMS

When you edit a page directly from a Web server that requires standard authentication, images do not appear on the page in Vizact.

CAUSE

Vizact must download each file and cannot pass the credential to the server for each image when it tries to download them.

MORE INFORMATION

If you are using Windows NT Challenge\Response (NTLM) authentication, you won't see this behavior because the server has already authenticated you and is able to keep the credential for all files from the computer.

To edit the pages, it is best to work on the page from your hard disk, and then to save the page to your Web server.
