SMSINST: Cannot Extract More Than 1,024 Files (238531)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the /x option to extract files from a compiled Systems Management Server Installer program file, no more than 1,024 files are extracted.

WORKAROUND

Use more than one program file to compile 1,024 or more files.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Systems Management Server Installer version 2.0.91.00.
