SYMPTOMS

When the LLC_DLC_STATISTICS command is issued to obtain SAP/LINK statistics, the usActLogLength field in LLC_DLC_STATISTICS_PARMS is supposed to indicate the length of the returned log. This field is used to indicate whether the log is for a SAP (type 20) or a LINK (type 48). The returned buffer must be typecast accordingly to extract the statistics. Windows 2000 does not correctly set this field. It retains the value assigned to it before the command is issued.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
