If you attempt to display the properties of a contact from your Outlook Address Book in Microsoft Word 97, you may receive the following error message:
Microsoft Exchange
The properties dialog could not be displayed.
Microsoft Exchange Client - [80040107]
Winword
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
Winword caused an invalid page fault in module Schdmapi.dll.
CAUSE
There is an incompatibility between Outlook and the version of Schdmapi.dll (version 2.0.3814.0) provided with Word.
RESOLUTION
Open the contact in Outlook to view the properties rather than viewing the contact information from the Address Book in Word.

This problem occurs when you first install Word and then Outlook (IMO). When you create a contact in Outlook, and use the Address button in Word to view the contact's properties, you receive one or all of the error messages mentioned in the "Symptoms" section.
