The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server

This article was previously published under Q238102

SUMMARY

When you create an additional information store on your Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server computer, you must mount the store before it is available for client access. However, when you attempt to mount the store, you receive the following error message:
The store could not be mounted because the Active Directory information was not replicated yet.

You can either:

- press Cancel and mount the store later from its context menu or,
- press Retry to let the Microsoft Exchange Administrator program keep trying to mount the store for you.
If you click Retry, Exchange 2000 tries to mount the information store automatically after the next Windows 2000 Active Directory replication cycle, and you see the following progress bar:

MORE INFORMATION

To expedite this process, you can manually force the Windows 2000 Active Directory to replicate. To do so:
  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Sites and Services.
  2. Click to expand the following objects:
    • Active Directory Sites and Services servername
    • Sites
    • Default-First-Site-Name
    • Servers
    • Any domain controller in your Exchange 2000 Server domain
    • NTDS Settings

  3. Right-click the automatically generated object in the right-hand pane, and click Replicate Now.
