SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to install the Japanese version of Site Server 3.0 (build 794.30 or 795.3) on a server with Internet Explorer 5.0 installed, the Site Server 3.0 installer stops responding.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Site Server 3.0. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

WORKAROUND

To install the Japanese version of Site Server 3.0 (builds 794.30, and 795.3) on a server with Internet Explorer 5.0, you must install Site Server 3.0 first, and then install Internet Explorer 5.0.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Site Server version 3.0 for Japan. This problem was first corrected in Site Server 3.0 Service Pack 3.
