PI: Epson Stylus Printers Give No Output or Feed a Blank Sheet (236965)

This article was previously published under Q236965 SYMPTOMS When you print to an Epson Stylus printer, you may notice
that the printer seems to spool the print job, but the printer gives no
output
This happens most frequently with Microsoft Picture It!. It
also happens more often when you print reprints, or large files. WORKAROUND To work around this problem, use one of the following
methods. Method 1: Disable Color Management To disable Color Management, follow these steps:
- In Picture It! or PhotoDraw, open the picture file you want
to print.
- On the File menu, click Print.
- In Picture It!, select the printer and then click to clear
the Use Color Management check box.
- In PhotoDraw, select the printer, and then click to clear
the Match screen colors check box in the lower right corner of the dialog box.
- Set the other print options that you want to use, and
print.
Method 2: Do Not Use User-Defined or Manufacturer-Defined Printer Preset Settings. To find the printer-setting presets, follow these steps:
- In Picture It! or PhotoDraw, open the picture file you want
to print.
- On the File menu, click Print.
- In Picture It!, select the printer and click Change printer settings.
- In PhotoDraw 2000, select the printer, and click Properties.
- The Epson printer driver dialog box appears. Click the Main tab.
- In the Mode section, click Advanced.
- You may choose from a list of presets defined by the
manufacturer, or you can click More Settings. Choose the settings you want to use under a name you specify,
click Save Settings. Once saved, the user-defined presets will be listed in the
custom list
Method 3: Upgrade Printer Driver From Manufacturer. The Stylus Color printer and Stylus Photo models are
manufactured by Epson, a vendor independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty,
implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance or
reliability. To upgrade to the latest printer driver available,
follow these steps: - Connect to the manufacturer's support site on the World
Wide Web:
- Follow the directions to specify the model of printer you
have.
- Be sure to select the driver that matches the operating
system you are using: Win95, Win98, NT4, etc.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions to download and
install the updated driver.NOTE: You can request the printer manufacturer's technical support
line to have the printer driver sent to you. Charges may apply.
