SUMMARY

Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 will always use the \My Pictures folder under the \My Documents folder when you click the Insert menu, point to Pictures, and then click From File the first time you use this option. If this folder does not exist. PowerPoint will create a new one. Once you change the location, you will always return to that new location for that session of PowerPoint.

This behavior of PowerPoint cannot be altered or changed.

MORE INFORMATION

You can place shortcuts to other folders in your My Pictures folder. For example, if you keep a lot of pictures in a folder called C:\Graphics, you can place a shortcut to that folder in your My Pictures folder.

To do this, follow these steps:
  1. In Windows Explorer or My Computer, click the folder that contains your frequently used graphics.
  2. On the Edit menu, click Copy.
  3. Open your \My Documents\My Pictures folder (in Windows Explorer or My Computer).
  4. On the Edit menu, click Paste Shortcut.
On the Insert menu in PowerPoint, point to Pictures, and then click From File. You can then click the shortcut to go to your frequently used graphics folder.
