VIZACT: Autoshape Disappears After You Apply Effect to Text (236669)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Vizact 2000

This article was previously published under Q236669

SYMPTOMS

After you apply an effect to text on a page, Autoshapes disappear from the page.

CAUSE

The HTML used to display the Autoshape was contained somewhere in the text string to which you applied the effect. If you repositioned the Autoshape so that it was not directly inline with the text, the HTML used to draw the shape remained inline with the text and was removed.

Not all effects can be applied to all items. In particular, the effect that you applied to the text cannot be applied to the Autoshape.

MORE INFORMATION

When you insert an Autoshape into a page, the HTML used to draw the shape is written to the place in the page where the insertion point is. In many cases, this may be inside text. Even if you reposition the shape, the HTML still exists at that place on the page.

Before you apply effects to text, make sure that no images or Autoshapes are included when you select the text.

You may want to insert all your text and apply the effect before you insert the Autoshapes.
