SUMMARY

If you have inserted several objects into a page, and especially several objects that are identical, such as Autoshapes, you may want to change the displayed name for an object so that you can differentiate the objects in the Timeline.

To change the name that is displayed in the Timeline, follow these steps:
  1. Click the object that you want to rename. If the object has no timing currently applied, clicking it makes the object appear in the Timeline.
  2. Right-click the object in the Timeline, and then click Rename on the shortcut menu.
  3. Type the name that you want to be displayed in the Timeline, and then click OK.
Repeat these steps as necessary for each object that you want to differentiate in the Timeline.
