OL2000: Sendfile Not Available with Outlook (236309)

SYMPTOMS

After upgrading to Microsoft Outlook 2000 from Outlook 97, you cannot send multiple attached documents at the MS-DOS command prompt using Sendfile.exe.

CAUSE

Sendfile.exe is not compatible with Outlook 2000 and is removed during setup.

MORE INFORMATION

You can send multiple attachments without opening Outlook, if Outlook is the default mail program.

To Set Outlook as the Default Mail Program

  1. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer, and on the View menu, click Internet Options.
  2. On the Programs tab, click Microsoft Outlook in the Mail list. Click OK. If you are using Internet Explorer 5, Internet Options is on the Tools menu.

To Select and Send Multiple Files

  1. Select the files you want to send by pressing the CTRL key, and then click each file to select it.
  2. Right-click the selected files, click Send To, and then click Mail Recipient.
  3. A mail message will be created with the files attached. Click Send.
