SYMPTOMS

When you print a project in one of the programs listed at the beginning of this article, some objects located near the edges of the page may not be printed completely.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you change the default printer when the Print dialog box is open.

RESOLUTION

To prevent this issue from occurring, select the default printer you want to use before you print the project. To do this:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
  2. Right-click the printer you want to use, and then click Set As Default.
  3. Close the Printers window.

MORE INFORMATION

The unprintable region is a margin around the edge of the page inside which a printer cannot print. The printer driver determines if a specific location is within the unprintable region of the printer.

NOTE: The size of the margin around the edge of the page may be different for each printer.

When you print a project, the program checks the unprintable region to verify that no objects in the project are located inside this region. If any objects in the project are located inside this region, you receive a warning message stating that some objects may not be printed completely.

If you select a different default printer in the Print dialog box, the program does not check the unprintable region, and no warning message is displayed if objects are located inside this region.
