SYMPTOMS

When you use Internet Explorer 4.5 for Macintosh to HTTP Post form information to a Web page using Windows NT Challenge/Response (NTLM) authentication, the information from the form may not reach the server. You may also be prompted to type a user name and password, but after you click OK Internet Explorer may stop responding (hang) until you click Stop.

CAUSE

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.5 for Macintosh.
