PRB: Must Connect Using SA Account for VID to Have Options to Manipulate DB (233990)

SYMPTOMS

When you connect to a SQL server database with an account other than the database owner, you do not see any options in the data view to add or modify tables.

CAUSE

You have limited capabilities depending on your SQL permissions. You must be the database owner in order to create new tables or modify existing ones from the Data View within Visual InterDev.

RESOLUTION

Connect to the database using the database owner account in order to create and modify tables.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
