BUG: OLAP Manager Cube Browser Unable to Display Data When All Base Measures are Hidden (233003)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft SQL Server OLAP Services 7.0
This article was previously published under Q233003
BUG #: 1529 (plato7x)
SYMPTOMS
The OLAP Manager cube browser does not display the defined calculated members for a cube when all base measures are hidden by setting the Is Internal property to Yes. Instead, it displays the value #ERR in the column measures level.
When all base measures are hidden, the cube processes without any errors, but attempting to browse the cube data results in the measures level on the columns displaying #ERR. Even when the cube contains valid data, the OLAP Manager cube browser does not display calculated members on columns unless a base measure for the cube is also available for display.
WORKAROUND
Here are three workarounds:
- If the measures dimension is dragged to the page area you can then view one calculated member value at a time by selecting that member in the drop-down list box.
- You can view calculated members from the MDX sample application using appropriate queries.
- You can view the calculated members on the columns axis by using the Pivot Table Service in Excel 2000.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in SQL Server OLAP Services version 7.0.
