SUMMARY

When you upgrade a computer running Microsoft Windows 95 or Microsoft Windows 98 that contains shared folders to Windows 2000, the shares are mapped to Windows 2000 share permissions.

Because you are upgrading to a new operating system, the permissions must be changed. The permissions mappings are:

Note that these mappings apply only to share-level permissions. If you convert the drive to the NTFS file system during the upgrade, default NTFS permissions are used.
