SYMPTOMS

When you try to connect to a chat server using Microsoft Chat, you may receive the following error message:
Your requested nickname is already in use. Please choose another.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if the first character in your nickname is a number.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, use a nickname that does not begin with a number.
