IntelliType: The ToggleKeys feature does not play sound when you press the CAPS LOCK key (232418)

SYMPTOMS

When you turn on the ToggleKeys feature in the Accessibility Options tool in Control Panel and you press the Caps Lock key, a sound may not be played.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you turn off the Shift Lock feature in the Keyboard tool in Control Panel.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, turn on the Shift Lock feature in the Keyboard tool:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Keyboard.
  3. On the Options tab, click to select the Shift Lock check box, and then click OK.
  4. Close all open windows on the desktop.
NOTE: If you have IntelliType Pro vesions 2.0 or 2.1 installed, replace Shift Lock function with Caps Lock.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
