Links Extreme/2000 & Golf 2001: Setup Initialization Process Stops Responding (Hangs) (232105)

SYMPTOMS

When you install one of the programs listed at the beginning of this article, the Setup Initialization process may seem to stop responding (hang). After a very long pause, the installation process continues normally.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the following conditions are true:

  • Microsoft Outlook 98 is running on your computer when you install Links Extreme.

  • Outlook 98 is configured to connect to a Microsoft Exchange server.

RESOLUTION

To prevent this issue from occurring, quit Outlook 98 and log off from the Exchange server before you install one of the programs listed at the beginning of this article. To do this, click Exit And Log Off on the File menu in Outlook 98.
