SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to install Dr. Solomon AntiVirus, you may receive the following message:
This version of Dr. Solomon AntiVirus Deluxe is not fully compatible with Windows 2000. If you install this version the Winguard service, which automatically protects your computer from viruses, will not run, by design of the application. Contact the program vendor regarding updates that are compatible with Windows 2000.
This message is generated by Windows 2000 to inform you of potential program issues before installation.

CAUSE

The NTGuard.exe component included with Dr. Solomon AntiVirus is designed to run in the background and constantly monitor activity on the computer for virus protection. This tool is not compatible with Windows 2000.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, contact the program's manufacturer to inquire about an update that resolves this issue.
