When you open an Internet message that contains a long URL (greater than 72 characters) as an attachment, the URL is broken up and only the first 72 characters are displayed as a valid part of the URL.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the sending mail client is either Outlook 97 or Outlook 98, and the message format is configured to wrap text at 72 characters by default.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, change the wrap text option to more than the default of 72 characters in both Outlook 97 and Outlook 98.
To change the wrap text option in Outlook 97 and Outlook 98:
- On the Tools menu, click Options.
- On the Mail Format tab, click Settings.
- In the "Automatically wrap at characters when sending" box, increase the number so that it is greater than the number of characters in the URL.
- Click OK, and then click OK.
