Default Document Renamed When Publishing to Disk-Based Web (230339)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft FrontPage 98 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q230339 SYMPTOMS
When you publish to a disk-based Web, the default document is renamed Index.htm. Even if the default document is renamed in the disk-based Web, the next time you publish to it, the default document is again named Index.htm.
CAUSE
The default document name for a disk-based Web is always Index.htm. This is by design, and cannot be changed.
WORKAROUND
If you prefer to change the name, open the disk-based Web and rename the default document. This will need to be done each time you publish to the Web.
Note: If you choose to rename the default document, the next time you publish to it, a new Index.htm will be created and your Web will contain both the renamed document (for example Default.htm) and a new Index.htm.
