Links LS 99: Computer Stops Responding or Game Quits Unexpectedly When You Start Links LS 99 (230245)

SYMPTOMS

When you start Links LS 1999 Edition, you may experience any of the following symptoms:

  • Your computer may stop responding (hang).

  • The game may quit unexpectedly.

  • The computer may restart unexpectedly.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you configure the Environmental Sounds setting to use Minimum Quality or Medium Quality.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, configure the Environmental Sounds setting to use Maximum Quality. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. On the Links LS 99 startup screen, click Options.
  2. On the Options screen, click Sound Setup.
  3. Under Environmental Sound, click Maximum Quality.
  4. Click OK, and then click Close.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Links LS 1999 Edition.
