XL2000: HTML File Grows in Size Each Time That It Is Published (229590)

Each time that you republish a Microsoft Excel worksheet as a Web page, the size of the HTML file grows by approximately two bytes.
CAUSE
Excel inserts a blank line just above the <HEAD> tag in the HTML file each time you republish the file.
WORKAROUND
You can safely delete these blank lines from the HTML file.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
