OL98: Sendfile Not Available with Outlook (229108)

SYMPTOMS

After upgrading to Outlook 98 from Outlook 97, you are no longer able to send multiple attached documents at the MS-DOS prompt using Sendfile.exe.

CAUSE

Sendfile.exe is not compatible with Outlook 98 and is removed during setup.

You can send multiple attachments without starting Outlook, if Outlook is the default mail program.

To Set Outlook As the Default Mail Program

To set Outlook as the default, follow these steps:
  1. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer, and on the View menu, click Internet Options.
  2. Click the Programs tab, and then click to select Microsoft Outlook in the E-mail list. Click OK
NOTE: If you are using Internet Explorer 5.0, Internet Options is on the Tools menu.

To Select Multiple Files

To select and send multiple files, follow these steps:
  1. To select the files you want to send, press the CTRL key and click each file to select it.
  2. Right-click the selected files, click Send To, and then click Mail Recipient.
  3. A mail message will be created with the files attached. Click Send.
