SUMMARY

When you are using the Custom Installation Wizard (CIW) and you click Add in the Add Installations and Run Programs dialog box, the following text appears in the Add/Modify Program Entry dialog box:

Enter the name and location of the file you want to execute.

The target cannot be a Windows Installation package (*.MSI, *.MST, OR *.MSP) or a program (MSIEXEC.EXE or maybe SETUP.EXE) that launches such a package.

This is not necessarily true. The Office 2000 Resource Kit (ORK) has an enhanced version of Setup.exe and you can enter a path to this enhanced version of Setup.exe in the Add/Modify Program Entry dialog box. This enhanced version of Setup.exe is used to chain installations of Windows Installer products together into a single installation.

MORE INFORMATION

If you click Help in the Add Installations and Run Programs dialog box, the Help topic displayed contains some information about using the enhanced version of Setup.exe from the ORK.
