When you attempt to install a network printer on a Windows 2000-based computer, you may receive the following error message:
The server on which the printer resides does not have a suitable Name printer driver installed. Click on OK if you wish to install the driver on your local machine.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the computer on which you are installing the network printer does not have enough available disk space on the system drive to download the printer drivers.
The error message may lead you to believe that the printer driver on the server is not suitable even though it actually is.
RESOLUTION
Free some disk space on the system drive and then install the printer again.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
