PPT2000: Cannot Access the Outlook Calendar when Scheduling a Broadcast (226719)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2000
- Microsoft Outlook 2000
This article was previously published under Q226719 SYMPTOMS
After you click Schedule Broadcast in the Schedule a New Broadcast window, you cannot access the Outlook Calendar from the Meeting Request form. If you try to access the Calendar, you receive the following error message:
Unable to display the folder. A dialog box is open. Please try again.
CAUSE
When PowerPoint accesses the Outlook Meeting Request Form, it does not make the form non-modal. Because of this, the form must be dismissed before any other Outlook window can be accessed.
WORKAROUND
Instead of using the Outlook Calendar to assist in scheduling the broadcast, use the Attendee Availability tab to show the availability of your audience members, as well as your own availability.
For more information about Attendee Availability, click Microsoft Outlook 2000 Help on the Help menu, type How do I select a meeting time? in the Office Assistant or the Answer Wizard, and then click Search to view the topic.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
