User Information Entries in Fax Client Are Blank (225715)

SYMPTOMS

After the Fax client is installed on a Small Business Server (SBS) client computer, users who log on to the computer must fill in their own information for the Fax client to populate the cover page for sending faxes.

RESOLUTION

To fill in the appropriate information:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Fax Client.
  2. Click the User Info tab.
  3. Type the appropriate information. This information must be filled in on a per-user basis.
This information is stored in the user profile on the local computer only, and does not modify or replace information in the Microsoft Exchange global address list.

MORE INFORMATION

Only the following information is populated automatically:
  • Your full name
  • The fax number
  • The mailbox (optional)
Note that the mailbox information is populated automatically in SBS 4.5 to allow for the routing of fax confirmations. This must be configured manually in earlier versions of SBS.
