RRAS Server Does Not Send FramedIPAddress in RADIUS Accounting Request Packet (225491)

SYMPTOMS

Windows NT Server with Routing and Remote Access Update (an RRAS server), when used as a Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) client, does not send the FramedIPAddress attribute in a RADIUS accounting request packet.

CAUSE

According to RFC 2139, which specifies the RADIUS Accounting Protocol, the FramedIPAddress attribute is an optional attribute, and may or may not be included in RADIUS accounting request packets.

RESOLUTION

Windows NT Server or Workstation 4.0
