FP2000: Custom Confirmation Component Displays Only Field Name If Called by Save to Database Form (225200)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft FrontPage 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1)
This article was previously published under Q225200 SYMPTOMS
When you use a FrontPage Confirmation Component on a custom confirmation page that was called by a Save to Database form handler, the Confirmation Component only displays the field name, not the field values from the submitted form.
CAUSE
A custom confirmation page must be parsed by the Shtml.dll file in order to expand the component into the field value, but the Shtml.dll file did not parse the component, because the component was located on an Active Server Page (ASP). SHTML explicitly prohibits parsing of ASP files in the interest of security.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, upgrade both the client computer on which FrontPage is installed and the server that is running the FrontPage Server Extensions to FrontPage Server Extensions Service Release 1.2 (Microsoft Windows-based) or FrontPage Server Extensions Service Release 1.1 (UNIX-based). NOTE: You must upgrade both the client and server.
To obtain the upgrade, browse to the following Microsoft Web site:
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
