SYMPTOMS

When you print a project in one of the programs listed at the beginning of this article, the project may be printed in black and white even though the project contains colored elements.

This behavior may occur even if documents from other programs are printed in color.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if your printer is configured to use grayscale printing .

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, disable grayscale printing for your printer. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Quit Greetings 99 or Home Publishing 99.
  2. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
  3. Right-click the icon for your printer, and then click Properties.
  4. In the printer Properties dialog box, look for a grayscale option. The name and location of this option varies from one printer to another. If you are unable to locate this option, consult the printed documentation provided with your printer.
  5. Disable the grayscale option.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Start Greetings 99 or Home Publishing 99 and print your project.
If your project still does not print in color, follow these steps:

  1. Open your project.
  2. Click Print My Project.
  3. In the Let's Print Your Project dialog box, click Click here to change printer setup.
  4. In the Print Setup dialog box, click Properties.
  5. In the printer Properties dialog box, look for a grayscale option. The name and location of this option varies from one printer. If you are unable to locate this option, consult the printed documentation provided with your printer.
  6. Disable the grayscale option.
  7. Click OK, and then click OK again.
  8. Follow the instructions on the screen to print your project.

If your printer is configured to use grayscale printing , the printer prints in black and white only. However, some programs automatically enable color printing when you attempt to print a color document. For this reason, some programs print in color with the grayscale option enabled, and other programs print in black and white only.
