OL2000: Error Message "Can't Copy the Items" Dragging File to Folder List or Outlook Bar (223679)

SYMPTOMS

When you drag a file from your hard disk to a folder in the Folder List or Outlook Bar, you may receive the following warning message:
Can't copy the items.

CAUSE

You have the Web view turned on in the right pane. While the Web view is on, you cannot drag files from your hard disk to your folders in the Folder List or Outlook Bar.

RESOLUTION

Turn off the Web view. If you are browsing a Web site using the Web toolbar, click a folder in your Folder List to turn off the Web view. If this does not turn off the Web view, on the View menu, click Show Folder Home Page to toggle off the Web view.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
