OL2000: (CW) ErrMsg: "A dialog is open. Close it and try again." (223664)

With this option, you can use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, click About Microsoft Outlook on the Help menu. If you have the Corporate or Workgroup installation, you see "Corporate or Workgroup".

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to add a user from your Global Address List (GAL) to your Personal Address Book (PAB), you may receive the following error message:
A dialog is open. Close it and try again.
When you click OK, the new contact dialog box remains open and the contact information is added to your contacts.

RESOLUTION

Instead of clicking Save and New, click Save and Close.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
