OL2000: (CW) Fatal Error Attempting to Link File to Contact from Word (223607)

SYMPTOMS
If you attempt to link a file to a contact while viewing the contact using the Address Book command in Microsoft Word, you may receive the following error: Microsoft Windows 95/98
Outlook caused an Invalid Page Fault in Mso9.dll at 015f:3097a383
NOTE: The memory address may vary depending on the information service you use. Microsoft Windows NT 4.0
An application error has occurred and an application error log is being
generated -- Outlook.exe.
You will not be able to continue in Word without forcing the program to quit. Any unsaved work may be lost. You may then see the following error:
The action could not be completed.
Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft Mail users see the following error prior to the "action could not be completed" error:
The properties dialog could not be displayed.
Microsoft Exchange - 80010105
Internet Mail users may receive the following message initially:
A dialog box is open. Please close it and try again.
This operation cannot be completed; to close the dialog box the Contact form must be dismissed. Subsequent attempts to perform the same operation will result in a similar error.
RESOLUTION
If you want to link a file to a contact, use Outlook rather than through the contact as viewed in Word.
