FP2000: First Style Definition Moves to First Line of Style Tags When You Remove Comments (219861)

SYMPTOMS

When you remove the comments from a style sheet, FrontPage moves the first style to the same line as the <style> tag.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the Reformat using the rules below option is selected (on the HTML Source tab of the Page Options dialog box).

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, select the Preserve existing HTML option. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Page Options, and click the HTML Source tab.
  2. Click Preserve existing HTML.
  3. Click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
