FP2000: Reporting Toolbar Commands Do Not Appear on Menus (219139)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FrontPage 2000

This article was previously published under Q219139

SYMPTOMS

When you start any type of report in Microsoft FrontPage (point to Reports on the View menu) and then close the Reporting toolbar, the options on the Reporting toolbar do not appear on any menu or in any dialog box.

When you open a report, the Reporting toolbar is opened in the middle of the screen and covers part of the report.

When you close the Reporting toolbar, there is no way to gain access to the functionality of the toolbar options. For example, there is no way to select a specific category to be displayed in the Categories report if the Reporting toolbar is not visible.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the Reports view does not generate a menu or dialog box that is attached to another menu item.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
  1. On the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click to select the Reporting check box.
  2. Drag the Reporting toolbar to the top of the screen.
  3. When the toolbar is docked, drop the toolbar.
The toolbar is now displayed in a docked position whenever you open a report.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
