SYMPTOMS
When you are running Internet Explorer 4.01 on Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 Service Pack 5 (SP5), you may not be able to open links to Microsoft Office 97 documents in Web pages. When you try to do so, you may receive the following error message:
Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site file name.
RESOLUTION
A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next 16-bit Internet Explorer 4.01 service pack that contains this hotfix.
