Error Message: The Folder <Drive>:\Internet Explorer 5.0 Does Not Exist (218795)

SYMPTOMS

When you install Internet Explorer 5, you may receive the following error message:
The folder drive:\Internet Explorer 5.0 does not exist. Do you want to create it?
When you click Yes, you may receive the following error message:
Setup could not create the folder 'drive:\Internet Explorer 5.0'. Please make sure it is a valid folder name, and then try again. Or try a different folder name.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if the drive you are selecting is a removable drive and there is no media in the drive.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install Internet Explorer on a non-removable drive or make sure the removeable drive contains a non-write protected disk.

NOTE: Microsoft does not recommend that you install Internet Explorer on a removable drive.
