PPT2000: Animated GIF Doesn't Play During Slide Animations (218533)

Animated Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) files are not animated until all other animated objects on the slide have completed their animation.
CAUSE
Animation effects are processor-intensive. To minimize the processing needs, Microsoft PowerPoint pauses all animated GIF files until the objects with animation effects have finished animating.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
