KNOWN ISSUES
The following are known issues for this release.
By default, Site Server 3.0 will be installed to a default \Microsoft Site
Server directory. If you already have a directory named "\Microsoft ", you
must choose a different name for the directory to which you will install
Site Server 3.0. Likewise, if you have installed Site Server 3.0 to the
default directory, it is strongly recommended that you do not add another
directory named "\Microsoft " on the same computer. For additional
information, see Knowledge Base (KB) Article 021268.
If you are using a proxy server and the Start menu links do not function,
you must complete the following procedure in Internet Explorer 4.0 or
later. On the View menu, click Internet Options, click the Connection tab,
and then select the Bypass Proxy Server For Local Intranet Addresses check box.
The Getting Results topic "To install the updated executable file
SQLSERVR.EXE" found in the Site Server 3.0 installation instructions
incorrectly refers to "SQL Server build 291" and the "Support\QFE\Sql291
folder." Please use SQL Server build 297, which is located in the
\Support\QFE\Sql297 folder on the Site Server 3.0 compact disc.
When creating a network share to the Site Server 3.0 installation compact
disc, do not include a space in the path to the network share.
When uninstalling Site Server 3.0, you must ensure that the Site Server 3.0
installation compact disc is in the appropriate drive.
When deploying content using the Content Deployment feature, it is not
recommended that you uninstall Site Server.
The Task Scheduler will not function with extended characters in the Task
name.
When performing a silent installation of Site Server, do not save the
response.iss file in a Microsoft Site Server directory.
If FrontPage 98 is installed prior to installing Windows NT 4.0 Option
Pack, it is possible to have both the Personal Web Server and the World
Wide Web (WWW) Publishing Service set to PORT:80. To check for this, run
the FrontPage Server Administrator, located in the FrontPage installation
directory. If the FrontPage Administrator lists a Web site as 80, uninstall
Personal Web Server before installing Site Server.
