OL2000: Receipt Options Not Saved With Send To Mail Recipient As Attachment (218374)

SYMPTOMS

If you set the Request a read receipt for all messages I send option, or Request a delivery receipt for all messages I send option, the setting is ignored when you set the Send to Mail Recipient (as Attachment) option for any other Microsoft Office program.

CAUSE

The Send to Mail Recipient (as Attachment) option in Office programs uses Simple MAPI to communicate with your e-mail program. Simple MAPI cannot read Outlook user options, so receipt requests are not set automatically.

RESOLUTION

To manually set the option in the message prior to sending it, click the Options button, and under Voting and Tracking options, click to select the option you want, and then click Close. Now when you send the message, your options for delivery or read receipts are applied.
