Server Extensions Uninstall Prompts to Delete Database (218368)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office 2000 Server Extensions
This article was previously published under Q218368 SYMPTOMS
When you uninstall the Office 2000 Server Extensions (OSE), you are
prompted to delete the Discussion Database. If the discussion database
used was the Master SQL database, then OSE will still prompt you to delete
it, even though it was not created by the OSE install.
CAUSE
In order to remove OSE functionality, the discussion server has to be
disabled and the discussions removed. To remove discussions, it is more
efficient to delete the database that contains the discussions.
WORKAROUND
If have chosen to use the SQL Master database for your discussion server
and do NOT want to delete it on removal of the OSE, then click "No"
when prompted to delete the database.
