If you select the Account option to leave Symantec Fax Starter Edition messages on the server, a file is saved on your local hard disk for every fax that you send. The typical size of the file is approximately 65 kilobytes (KB), but it may be larger depending on the size of the fax message.
NOTE: The Leave a copy of messages on the server check box is located on the Advanced tab of the Internet Mail Only Account property page, and it is not selected by default. Symantec and Microsoft recommend that you do not make changes to any item on this property page after the feature is set up and functioning.
CAUSE
When you use the Symantec Fax Starter Edition, the computer that you send the fax from is the server.
WORKAROUND
To avoid using disk space with saved faxes, do not select the option to keep messages on the server. Copies of sent fax messages are kept in the Sent Items folder in the default personal folder that Outlook uses.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. REFERENCESFor additional information about problems with Symantec Fax Starter Edition, click the article number below
