NOTE: The procedures in this article only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate or Workgroup option. With this option, you can use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, click About Microsoft Outlook on the Help menu. SUMMARY

You installed Outlook on a Microsoft Windows 2000 Server with a Microsoft Exchange profile set to use Offline folders. When you click the Tools menu, you notice that the Synchronize command is not displayed.

MORE INFORMATION

When you run Outlook on Windows 2000 with Terminal Services installed, the Synchronize feature in Outlook is turned off. The Terminal Service does not have to be running in order for this to happen; it only needs to be installed on the computer. Outlook detects the installation of Terminal Services and disables the command.
