This article was previously published under Q217619 SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to delete an updated meeting request from your Inbox you may receive the following error message:
One or more recipients in this item were not usable. You need to recreate the addresses. The item has been moved or deleted.
After you click OK, the calendar item for the update is removed.
CAUSE
You are attempting to delete the updated meeting request message without first opening the updated meeting request message.
WORKAROUND
Before you can delete an updated meeting request message, you must first open the updated meeting request message.
If necessary, you can retrieve the updated meeting request message from the Deleted Items folder and respond to it by clicking Accept, Tentative, or Decline. The calendar item then appears on the calendar as accepted or tentative if you responded with either of these choices. The sender of the meeting request is updated accordingly if you chose to send a response.
MORE INFORMATION
Outlook 97 handles this situation differently than Outlook 98. If you attempt this same scenario under Outlook 97, it warns you that you have not read the message.
