SBS: Fax Server Only Dials Numeric Characters in Fax Number (216669)

The Send Fax Wizard will accept any alphanumeric character in the fax number field, but only numeric characters in the country code and area code fields. The modem will only dial the numeric characters and it skips any non-numeric characters.
CAUSE
This behavior is by product design.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, use only numeric characters for the fax number.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in BackOffice Small Business Server.
