XL2000: Pressing TAB Doesn't Switch Tabs in Dialog Box (215625)

SYMPTOMS

Pressing TAB in a dialog box that has tabs, like the Choose Data Source dialog box, changes focus from the current tab to the next visible control on the tab, but it does not select another tab.

To locate the Choose Data Source dialog box, follow these steps:
  1. On the Data menu, click PivotTable and PivotChart Report.
  2. Click External Data Source and click Next.
  3. Click Get Data.

CAUSE

This is normal behavior in Windows for any dialog box with multiple tabs.

RESOLUTION

To switch tabs in a tabbed dialog box by using the keyboard, use either of the following methods:
  1. Press CTRL+TAB

    -or-
  2. Press CTRL+PAGE UP (or CTRL+PAGE DOWN)
